CSEA JUDICIARY LOCAL 334 AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS

CSEA Judiciary Local 334 recently presented two Academic scholarships and one Financial Assistance Scholarship to graduating high school seniors, children of court employees represented by the union. The two $1,000 Academic recipients were Gabrielle Dewhurst of Clinton, New York and Sarah Parks of Skaneateles, New York. The $1,000 Financial Assistance recipient was Alexandra Taskovski of Liverpool, New York.
Gabrielle Dewhurst is a graduate of Clinton Central School and is the daughter of Regina Dewhurst, Senior Court Reporter, Oneida County Combined Courts. Gabrielle will be attending Cornell University in the Fall, majoring in Pre-Med.
Sarah Parks is a graduate of Skaneateles High School and is the daughter of Matthew Parks, Associate Court Clerk, Onondaga Combined Courts. Sarah will be attending Binghamton University in the Fall, majoring in Nursing.
Alexandra Taskovski is a graduate of Liverpool High School and is the daughter of Diane and Ljupco Taskovski, both Senior Court Office Assistants, Onondaga Family Court and Syracuse City Court. Alexandra will be attending Clarkson University in the Fall, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
Other Academic and Financial Assistance Scholarships were awarded to the following students:
Adam Klosner is a graduate of Central Valley Academy and is the son of Prescott Klosner, Court Attorney, Herkimer County Court. Adam will be attending college in the Fall, majoring in Civil Engineering.
Christopher Jeffrey is a graduate of Norwich High School and is the son of Monica Jeffrey, Senior Court Office Assistant, Chenango County Family Court. Christopher will be attending St. Lawrence University in the Fall, majoring in Business Economics.
Jason Reed is a graduate of Hugh C. Williams High School and is the son of Donna Reed, Court Assistant, St. Lawrence County Family Court. Jason will be attending Clarkson University in the Fall, majoring in Electrical Engineering.
Victoria Bove is a graduate of West Genesee High School and is the daughter of Lori Bove, Supervising Court Office Assistant, Onondaga County Court. Victoria will be attending Onondaga Community College in the Fall, majoring in Medical Imaging/Ultrasound.
Danielle Hughes is a graduate of Whitesboro High School and is the daughter of Lori Hughes, Court Assistant, Oneida County Family Court. Danielle will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the Fall, majoring in Music Education.
Lucas Smith is a graduate of Hamilton Central School and is the son of Fred Smith, NYS Court Officer, Madison County. Lucas will be attending SUNY Morrisville in the Fall, majoring in a Human Performance and Health Promotion.
Taber Carter is a graduate of Hannibal High School and is the son of Melissa Carter, Secretary, Oswego Family Court. Taber will be attending Elmira College in the Fall, majoring in Biochemistry.
Joseph Morgan is a graduate of West Genesee High School and is the son of Cynthia Morgan, Secretary, Onondaga Family Court. Joseph will be attending Lemoyne College in the Fall, majoring in Accounting.
Michael Vecchio is a graduate of Westmoreland High School and is the son of Terri Bello Vecchio, Court Clerk, Oneida County Combined Courts. Michael will be attending Mohawk Valley Community College in the Fall, majoring in Environmental Studies.
Emily White is a graduate of Rome Free Academy and is the daughter of Tami White, Secretary, Oneida County Supreme Court. Emily will be attending Utica College in the Fall, majoring in Journalism.
The Lt. Michael Carraway Memorial Scholarship program is named in memory of retired Judiciary Local 334 President Sharon Carraway’s husband, a Utica Police Lieutenant and union activist who died unexpectedly in 1994.
ENCHANTED FOREST – WATER SAFARI
Our annual visit to Enchanted Forest/Water Safari is scheduled for Saturday, July 22nd. Reservations must be received by July 14th, so please mail them early. We have a large group from our Local every year because it’s such a great time – plenty of food, great water rides and lunch/dinner are both included in the price.
