LOCAL DINNER MEETINGS – May & June 2016:
Local 334 will be holding the following dinner meetings. Please RSVP by the appropriate date to: firstname.lastname@example.org. The dinner meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and are open to members from all counties within the Local. Vendors will be available from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
COURT OFFICER REALLOCATIONS
UCS has announced that the reallocation for Court Officers (18 to 19) and Sergeant (19 to 20) will become effective June 2nd, which will be reflected in paychecks “later this year.” UCS has indicated that it is moving forward with a review of all title classification plans for all non-judicial employees.
The Administrative Order reallocating Court Officer Trainees (14 to 16) has been amended to reflect an effective date of December 16, 2014. CSEA Dep. Director of Contract Administration Mary Rubilotta worked very hard, along with the Local Presidents, to secure this amendment in order to address unfair pay differential issues between COTs. We appreciate the assistance of both 5th JD Administrative Judge James Tormey and Dep. Chief Administrative Judge for Courts Outside of NYC, Judge Michael Coccoma, for their efforts in helping us secure the amendment to the Administrative Order. Also, we want to thank Judge Marks for considering CSEA’s request and signing the amended Administrative Order.
CSEA “NEVER QUIT” CAMPAIGN
CSEA volunteers are reaching out to our members through worksite and home visits regarding the “Never Quit” campaign, to educate our members and support our Union’s value on membership within CSEA. If you are visited by a CSEA representative, they will have appropriate identification and will take just a few moments of your time. There are many forces at work around the country trying to destroy Unions. Can you imagine not having a contract, no bargaining rights, etc.? It has happened in many other states; we do NOT want it to happen to us…. “Never Quit.” See CSEA Region 5 President Colleen Wheaton’s letter in this regard (click on link below).
Judiciary Local 334 member Jenny Ryan is facing very, very serious medical issues. Jenny works as a Senior Court Office Assistant in Broome County but has been out of work since February 29th, dealing with life-threatening and complicated medical problems. Friends and family of Jenny have set up a “Go Fund Me” page to assist in what doctors are describing as a very, very long recovery period. If you know Jenny and would like to learn more or contribute, please go to www.gofundme.com/xqzhgddg.
DO YOU KNOW YOUR CSEA ID NUMBER?
Every CSEA Membership Number begins with “123.” If you do not know your membership number, you may obtain it through the CSEA web site, www.cseany.org, by clicking on “Look up your CSEA ID” at the top of the home page. Once a month, we randomly insert a member’s ID number somewhere within the text of a Receiver Notice. If you see your member ID number, contact me within 48 hours and you will receive a check for $20. (Our April 2016 member that received a $20 check was from Oneida County.)
