BREAST CANCER AWARENESS – COURT OFFICER PATCHES
UCS has authorized our Court Officers to wear pink-themed Breast Cancer Awareness patches for the month of October. As a strong supporter of this cause, I have personally purchased a limited supply of these patches for interested Court Officers for those members that will actually utilize the “pink” themed patches, which will be distributed on a first-come basis. Please, do not request a patch if you are not going to wear it on your uniform and just put it in a drawer somewhere. Let those who will wear the patch receive it (while supplies last) and wear it proudly in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. I would request that one person per facility or county or court (depending on the size of your facility/county/court) ask their fellow officers if they would like a patch and then contact Brenda, firstname.lastname@example.org, with the following information: Your name, mailing address, number of patches requested, who you are requesting the patches for (CO names). This is to avoid having to mail out “ten” different mailings to the same court/location and so that we have documentation as to who has already received a patch.
If you wish to purchase additional patches, you may order them at cost at $2 per patch. Contact me or Brenda for details. A reminder that all uniformed personnel must remove the patch and replace it with the regular CO patch by November 1st.

PROPOSED NYS CONSITUTIONAL CONVENTION – VOTE NO!
On Election Day 2017, November 7th, voters in New York will be given a referendum on the ballot regarding a proposed New York State Constitutional Convention to be held in the future. The vote this year will be whether there should be a Constitutional Convention in the future. We must educate all of our members, families and friends about the risks and costs involved, particularly as State employees. What type of risks? Changes to our pensions, union rights and more. Who would make these decisions? Only those that could afford an expensive campaign to be voted in as a delegate to the Constitutional Convention. Talk with your family, friends and neighbors – New York State does NOT want or need a Constitutional Convention!
Note: CSEA has been informed that the question regarding whether to hold a Constitutional Convention will be on the reverse side of the voting ballot – turn it over and vote NO.
